Every year millions of children write letters to Santa with a list of gifts they wish to receive during Christmas. But have you ever wondered, where do all those letters end up after you mail them off? We did some digging and we never would have guessed what we found…
According to several websites, sadly all letters addressed to Santa are thrown away. Coming from an ex employee at a local post office, she quoted; “I was in charge of throwing away all letters with no valid address around the holidays pertaining to Santa. Most letters only had an address reading Santa in the North Pole”. Heart breaking right? At least for me. I remember spending all my time carefully writing my letter and for what? It only to be thrown away in the trash. No wonder Santa didn’t come last year…
But all hope isn’t lost yet. Some towns here in America have actual addresses to places that accept letters to Saint Nick. So unless you wrote to an actual address, odds are your letter was thrown out.
